We see shapes and faces in things in our everyday lives, in rocks, clouds and trees. People will see different shapes such as faces and flowers. I shoot landscapes which I then edit into circular images. When I finish the editing process, a new image is revealed for the first time. Sometimes turning the image reveals a different shape. They are similar to Rorschach ink images which psychologists use to test patients. The things you see may reveal something about you. Making these orbs is always enjoyable because I never know what I will see at the end. It could be a butterfly or the head of a monkey. Everyone sees something unique and to encourage people to use their imagination I have left the works untitled. I love playing with the images I take, trying new ways of editing. The first face or shape I created was completely by chance. I tried to replicate this with other images and it worked. Since making the first orb I have learnt what sort of landscape works best and will make for an interesting final image. |
